TCWEP meets every second Wednesday of the month from 11am to 1:30pm at various venues around the Twin Cities metro area for a wonderful catered luncheon and networking. Oftentimes the venue, catering, and more go all-out as they impress the attendees of the event with mouth-watering meals and fancy dessert. There’s usually around 75-120 people at an event, and composed of event-industry professionals including: corporate & wedding event planners, entrepreneurs, hotel guest services, hair stylists, make-up artists, photographers, bakers, caterers, venue owners, and more. “In 2009 we didn’t charge admission, but over the years we’ve grown from a handful of people to a database of over 2,000 subscribers. With that growth comes a lot of administration time and many of the things we do each month are costly. Hence charging for tickets to attend our events.” says Michelle Tverberg, co-founder of the group. “The impetus actually for us having such a great ticket rate for full-time students is a slightly personal one for me, I have two kids. One graduated not long ago, and the other is right smack in the middle of school. College is expensive, so when we began implementing our new ticketing costs, we three (Michelle, Elizabeth, & Matt) decided with TCWEP that we want to do everything we can to help foster the coming generations of event planners, photographers, etc. that are coming-up into the hospitality industry.” Full-time students are welcome to attend TCWEP events. You can find tickets online today at www.tcwep.com “There are a lot of moms in our group, that are running our own small businesses. We will we not only help mentor these full-time students, we will make sure they get a full belly of great food too at our event.” says Michelle while chuckling “…like every mom will understand how important this is.”
