Our Story
In 2009, three of us joined together as event industry professionals to fill a void we felt in the wedding and event industry in the greater Minneapolis-St.Paul area. As the effects of the last recession rippled through the event industry, Matthew Sherry and Michelle Tverberg, (two of the three founding members still with TCWEP), gathered a few other event industry pros together to with an idea to provide a win-win solution for the advancement of passionate event professionals.
A successful networking model is the core of who we are.
We knew that creating a collaborative organization where we could meet new people, showcase local venues and talents, and receive education from industry partners, while collaborating with our competition would enrich the event industry both collectively and individually.
Our first face-to-face networking model started with a handful of wedding and event industry pros who understood the value of word-of-mouth referrals, sharing resources and building friendships. We have now grown to a database of over 2,096 professionals who support the event industry in the greater Twin Cities and surrounding areas in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
